Profiles

Office, Drawing review, Electrical, Plumbing & HVAC, Other trades, All features: what each one shows.

A profile is the way you work. Like Bluebeam Revu profiles, it decides which menus, panels, tool chests and fields you see, so an office person never sees estimating tools and a plumbing estimator never sees electrical circuits. Your files are the same whatever profile you use.

How to choose or switch

  • The first start asks on the welcome screen.
  • Switch any time with the profile button at the top right of the toolbar (it shows the current profile, e.g. "Electrical"), or in Settings → Profile.
  • Switching closes side panels the new profile doesn't use. Nothing in your documents changes.
  • View → Toggle Simple / Pro mode jumps between Office and the Pro profile you used last.

What each profile shows

All features Admins, testing Everything.

Good to know

  • Office is the Simple mode. Every other profile is Pro: the grouped markup toolbar, the measure tools, the markups list and the tool chest.
  • Quantities are never hidden. If a file already holds plumbing quantities and you open it in Electrical estimating, the takeoff ledger's trade filter still lists the plumbing lines.
  • Tool chests in Pro profiles. Every Pro profile has the tool chest. Company chests follow the profile's trades (Door Access & Security shows in all of them); chests you made or imported always show. Ctrl+K arms exactly the tools the chest shows, and while a tool is armed the status bar shows its name with a × to stop it. Office has no tool chest, so right-click → Add to tool chest… is not offered there. See Tool chest and symbols.
  • Missing a menu or panel? It is probably for another profile. For example, Find similar and the takeoff ledger need an estimating profile; Panels & circuits needs Electrical estimating or All features.
  • The profile is remembered on this computer.
